Nokia 5730 Xpress Music Review – Read This Before You Buy!

Is the Nokia 5730 Xpress Music ‘the one’ that will break the domination of Sony Ericsson in the mobile music world? Our Nokia 5730 Xpress Music review aims to find out just that.

Nokia Xpress Music is relatively new to the market, the success that Ericsson have enjoyed since they joined forces with Sony just over five years ago has been a hard nut to crack but Xpress Music reviews have been pretty positive. The question is, can Nokia make a dent? What is for certain is that they’re going for it wholeheartedly with a huge range of MP3 focussed phones with expandable memory, designed specifically for high quality music playback. Not only that, they’re running with the ‘music first, phone second’ across their lower priced range and what seems to be a ‘music first but we won’t compromise on the phone’ with higher level phones that do everything you’d expect from a smart phone. This is the category into which the Nokia 5730 falls.

Nokia 5730 Xpress Music Review – the Phone

The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is a smartphone with impressive spec. On the phone side the Nokia 5730 Xpress Music has a QWERTY keyboard, Ovi Share for access to literally thousands of apps and widgets. It’s 3G capability, HSDPA and Wi-Fi gives you impressive speed for downloading. Then there’s the camera, a 3.2 megapixel effort with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and an LED flash. This supports the VGA video camera as well making an impressive package. Another neat function is the GPS which allows you to tag your photos to your exact location so make sure you’re where you say you are! The GPS can of course, be used for more useful applications like satnav and Nokia’s own map functionality which will plot where you are and help you find what you’re looking for quickly and easily.

The 3.5mm audio jack means you are not limited by headphone selection. There is also an FM radio, stereo Bluetooth and using the dedicated music keys makes the phone into a true MP3 player. The 8GB of memory stores over 6,000 songs and this can be upgraded to an impressive 16GB if you need more.
